This webinar describes how the Global Bridges Oncology Nurse Seminar was created and what their outreach program offers.Their program has expanded and includes monthly nursing education for nurses that deliver cancer care. In addition, GBONS has published two different items of scholarly work in collaboration with our colleagues from Ghana. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe how Global Bridges Oncology Nurse Seminar came to be; 

  • Understand three (3) different ways GBONS provides support to nurses in Africa; 

  • Describe the future direction of the GBONS program; 

  • Identify how they can refer nurses to our program, if desired.

Rachael Guenzel is a Nurse Practitioner at Mayo Clinic. She works in Radiation Oncology and specializes in treatment for head & neck cancer as well as lymphoma. She also is one of the program directors for Global Bridges Oncology Nurse Seminar that specializes in working with nurses in sub-Saharan Africa to improve cancer outcomes.
