Jacquilyn Ann Davis is the Director of Workplace Mental Health & DEI of Mental Health Connecticut. Established in 1908, Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) is a statewide, nonprofit organization whose mission is to partner with individuals, families, and communities to create environments that promote long-term health and wellness.

Jacquilyn received her Associates of Science Degree in Television Broadcasting from the New England Institute of Art in 2004. After a short career as an editor for ESPN, she realized her passion for nonprofit work and took her skillset in communications, marketing, editing, and graphic/web design to the nonprofit sector.

Jacquilyn has over a decade of experience in nonprofit marketing, communication, and graphic/web design in addition to supporting high-level executives at various organizations. With the majority of her career spent with mental health nonprofit agencies, Jacquilyn has managed the websites, publications, public image, and overall marketing for multiple nonprofits. Her educational background in television broadcasting provided her a solid base for the marketing and communication training she’s received over the years in addition to the onsite experience she’s received with the American Academy for Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry, the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry, and Mental Health Connecticut.

In June of 2020, Jacquilyn expressed her desire to expand her professional knowledge and experience by integrating a long-term passion for history, advocacy, and social justice by creating the first DEI group at Mental Health Connecticut (MHC), the Equity, Social Justice & Antiracism (ESJA) Advisory Committee. With an organization-wide commitment to creating environments that support long-term health and wellness, the mission of the ESJA Advisory Committee is to identify and create solution-based recommendations to MHC’s Executive Team to improve work culture with a focus on social justice, cultural humility, and equity for staff, program participants, and the communities we serve.

Jacquilyn and her team have since created MHC’s Antiracist statement, instituted monthly Cultural Humility events for staff to learn and share their knowledge on topics such as racism, bigotry,  and oppression, and has presented at a national conference in June 2021 on “Turning Ideas into Actions,” which details the importance and the steps to creating a DEI group at a nonprofit organization.

Jacquilyn’s commitment to cultural humility and antiracism was recognized by the leadership at MHC and as of June 1, 2021, transitioned from Marketing and Communications Coordinator to the DEI & Engagement Coordinator, leading the organizations efforts to continue on the path of being an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace.

In May 2023, Jacquilyn was promoted to the position of Director of Workplace Mental Health & DEI and is now leading the MHC Collaborative, a program dedicated to improving workplace mental health for organizations ready to make the investment for their workforce and their employees. Membership in the MHC Collaborative includes a mix of strategic guidance and point-in-time needs assessment for leadership, delivered simultaneously with trainings and workshops for all employees.

Jacquilyn is an experienced facilitator and trainer and has successfully delivered trainings internally to MHC staff and externally through the MHC Collaborative on

topics including: “DEIW in the Workplace: Creating Safe and BRAVE Spaces,” “How to Create An Inclusive & Welcoming Workplace,” “Trauma Storms and the Emotional Impact of Human Service Workers,” “LGBTQ+ History, Health and Inclusion,”

“Intersectional Allyship,” “LGBTQAI Inclusion,” “Developing a Self-Care Plan: Self- Care isn’t Selfish,” “Psychological Safety in the Workplace,” and “Intergenerational Trauma: The Impact of Family History and Strategies to Cope.”

Jacquilyn is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, received the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate from the University of South Florida, Muma College of Business, and also earned the Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty certificate from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Jacquilyn was recently recognized as a “Bloomfield Women Warrior” by the Town of Bloomfield. Being a Bloomfield Women Warrior embodies strength, courage, resilience, and empowerment. A Bloomfield Women Warrior is a woman who embodies these qualities and goes above and beyond to make a positive impact on her community. It is about standing up for what is right, making a difference and inspiring positive change in the Bloomfield community. Bloomfield Women Warriors are the driving force behind progress, empowerment, and unity in Bloomfield and beyond.
