To share our Seattle Children’s Hospital experiences in IR as we have evolved over time to a complete service line. To provide insight on some of the routine and interesting/unique procedures that are performed in pediatrics. To give the audience an understanding of some of the unique challenges that arise when performing IR procedures in the pediatric population. To provide a level of understanding on the specific products that are utilized in the pediatric population.

To introduce some of our Seattle Children’s Hospital techniques used in pediatric interventional cases that may differ from adults.

Ray Ramoso has extensive experience in interventional radiology with specific pediatric knowledge based on 10 years at Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH). The Interventional Department has grown by roughly 40% over the past 9 years, increasingly specialized procedures are consistently the focus. Since Ray has joined the IR team advancements in the IR service have evolved over time with the creation of IR clinic, the addition of nursing support in IR, and online medication orders/documentation.

Katie has a BSN from University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has 16 years of nursing experience since 1998 and is a Certified Emergency Nurse (MED-Surg, Emergency Department, and Radiology).

She has 6 years of radiology nursing experience, all in pediatrics- 1 as a staff RN in IR, 5 years in management, Also manager of the Endoscopy Suite.
