We will look at cases in the news as well as cases this nurse is familiar with that involve nursing, technologists and physicians in the care of patients that have ended up in malpractice or criminal cases. The goal will be to alert everyone to common practice mistakes and safeguards to your practice. Emphasis on defining the Standard of Care and how you work to always practice at the highest level.

Kathy took the long way around to nursing. She graduated from UNC in Sociology, became a certified computer programmer working in New York City and Washington, DC. Went on to sales, volunteered quite a lot and headed to Grenada, West Indies for 3 years in the US Peace Corps. Back stateside to a job in Retail as a Buyer of candy and cookies, to a job as a certified local government purchasing officer (buying fire trucks). Became an EMT, then to nursing
school and took first job in the Burn Center. She began doing breast Imaging procedures nurse at ambulatory center. Kathy has extensive knowledge and hands on experience in breast imaging for 10 years. Frequent speaker for imaging environments on the local and national level for nursing, RTs, and physician audiences.
