Dr. Dixon completed a Radiology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY in 2003, where he served as Chief Resident from 2001 through 2002. He then completed his Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at UNC in 2004, and has stayed on as an Assistant Professor in the Vascular and Interventional Radiology division. Dr. Dixon is board certified in Radiology, with an additional Certification of Advanced Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. His areas of interest include oncologic interventions, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, biliary interventions, IVC filtration, radiation safety and case based teaching. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on these topics and has lectured nationally as well. In addition, he is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology Safety committee, a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and an examiner for the American Board of Radiology.
