PURPOSE:  The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to discuss elements related to non opiod management of chronic pain.

2. Describe the potential origin of opioid use disorder from treatment of chronic pain with opioids.
3. Describe how to assess patients’ pain using a comprehensive approach.
4. Explain the benefits of a multimodal approach to pain treatment.
5. Examine different medications and treatments for chronic pain.
