For many years, the femoral approach has been the traditional option for patients undergoing Interventional Radiology procedures. Extensively used in Interventional Cardiology, this technique has recently gained widespread popularity in Interventional Radiology (IR).  The purpose of this session will be to describe the transradial approach in IR procedures. The transradial approach allows access through the radial artery for angiography and interventions with lower direct costs, fewer vascular complications, better patient acceptance, earlier ambulation, and a higher degree of patient comfort. While the transfemoral approach has many limitations and potential complications, the transradial approach has relatively few to none.  Best practices or evidence based guidelines for post procedural radial access care will be presented.
